ABOUT EUROPEAN STANDARDS
CONCERNING VETERINARY GLOVES

Veterinary gloves

The long-sleeved polyethylene gloves used by veterinarians and inseminators, according to today’s European legislation, are considered as “personal protection equipment” (PPE). They are designed to protect users against soiling but also against risks of bacteriological contamination (of the Maltese fever type).

The veterinary gloves produced by POLYSEM comply with the current European standards. Conformity is confirmed by the CE markings on our packaging and the printing of the “micro-organisms hazards” pictogram (corresponding to a penetration resistance test according to European standard EN 374-2).

In accordance with the European directive concerning PPE, finished products and production tools are tested and verified by independent and notified organizations:
- finished products are handled by L’Institut Textile de France as per standards EN 420, EN 374-1, 2 and EN 388.
- for the production tool, ASQUAL is in charge.
Our manufacturing passed these tests with ease obtaining a “CE type-approval examination certificate”, confirming their conformity with European standards. These gloves are in category III offering an optimum guarantee to users, total traceability and confirming that stringent production testing has been carried out.
Accordingly, on each package, a batch number appears enabling us to rapidly identify any malfunctions that might appear in the manufacturing process should a claim be made.

The other gloves

With a constant concern to offer users a suitable product with optimum protection guarantees for every possible task, POLYSEM has opted for the conformity of its examination and surgical gloves with the most stringent standards in the medical field corresponding to the European directive concerning “medical devices”: harmonized European standards EN 455-1,2 & 3.
Some of our examination gloves also bear the French quality label “NF médical”. It is the fruit of a deliberate approach involving the action of an independent laboratory, the National Testing Laboratory (known as LNE). This laboratory confirms that our products conform with standards but also comply with market demands (regulations and committee), the established quality system and, finally, the specific aspects of the product.
